Do you MC as well?

This is a question I get asked occasionally and my answer is always a regretful no. However, if you do decide you'd like an MC, then the below pointers may help you choose one.


  • Experience: Look for an MC with experience hosting weddings or similar events. They should understand the flow of a reception, be familiar with wedding traditions, and know how to handle unexpected situations.

  • Presentation: The MC should be well-spoken, articulate, and comfortable speaking in public. They should dress professionally and project a confident demeanor.

  • Reliability: Ensure the MC is punctual, organized, and prepared to follow the agreed-upon schedule.

Personality and Style:

  • Compatibility: Choose an MC whose personality and style align with yours and your partner's. Do they share your sense of humor? Are they formal or informal?

  • Engagement: The MC should be able to connect with the audience, keeping them engaged and entertained throughout the evening. They should be able to tell stories, share anecdotes, and make announcements in a way that is both informative and fun.

  • Adaptability: The MC should be flexible and able to adjust to changes in the schedule or unexpected situations. They should be able to think on their feet and maintain a positive attitude.

Additional Considerations:

  • Reviews: Check reviews from previous couples the MC has worked with.

  • Services Offered: Determine what services the MC includes in their package. This may include microphone management, music coordination, introductions of speakers, and announcements.

  • Cost: Get quotes from several MCs and compare their fees and services offered.
